Ownership
Does it increase what we intend to hold? We prefer assets to activity and equity to applause. What we cannot hold, we do not chase.
Young & Co exists to build and to own businesses that last, and to do both well.
Two decades of hospitality leadership: operations, openings,
turnarounds, and the daily discipline of service.
Young & Co is a holding company built by an operator, not a financier. Its standard comes from two decades of hospitality leadership: operations, openings, turnarounds, and the daily discipline of service. It is a discipline where excellence is judged by the absence of friction, and the highest compliment a guest can pay is not noticing how much it took.
We bring that standard to ownership. We look for businesses meant to be held rather than flipped; we intend to run them with precision rather than theater; and we measure them in decades, not quarters.
Does it increase what we intend to hold? We prefer assets to activity and equity to applause. What we cannot hold, we do not chase.
Does it reduce dependence on any one person's hours? A business that needs its owner at the desk every day is a job wearing a company's clothes. We build things that run.
Does it deserve to last? Capital, people, and a good name are held in trust. We act accordingly, most carefully when no one is watching.
Luxury is precision no one has to think about.
It is the hotel lobby at four in the afternoon: nothing happening, everything handled.
Enduring, unglamorous operating businesses with real customers, real cash flow, and a reason to exist in ten years. Acquired carefully. Operated personally. Improved quietly.
Operating doctrine, and a studio practice that runs through everything else: type, image, motion, and sound, from the look of this house to the worlds of its titles. Some of it ships on its own. All of it is owned outright and held to the same standard as the companies.
Acquisition intelligence for operators who intend to own. A briefing for people buying cash‑flowing businesses. The governing idea: the exit is a purchase.
A post‑close operating installation for new owners of small businesses: six installs in the first hundred days, then monitoring.
Operational intelligence for senior operators.
A business that has already proven it can make money through ordinary bad years, not one that needs a story to explain the future.
A team, or a seller, whose word has held up over time. We buy from owners we would trust to keep running the business if we walked away.
A future that does not depend on a trend, a single customer, or a technology cycle we cannot see past.
We will not buy on a deadline, and we will not sell on one. What we hold changes hands only when it should, never because a clock ran out.
We are not raising outside capital. The firm moves at the pace its own resources allow.
We will not pretend to be larger than we are.
Everything in the ledger is researched, built, and operated with an in‑house agentic system: AI doing work that would otherwise take a staff the firm deliberately does not carry. The ventures are the product. The system is the reason a small firm can build at this scope.
Behind Young & Co runs Orion, an artificial intelligence operating system. Built like an institution, run by one. It operates entirely unseen. It is not a product, and it is not for sale.
If you own a business and are thinking about what comes next for it, we would be glad to be introduced through someone we both know.
Every conversation is held in confidence from the first word, whether or not it goes anywhere.
